What People Are Saying
"The Stewardship Summit was an excellent experiential learning opportunity for managers across Berkeley Lab. The combination of presentations from outside experts, and then breaking off into smaller groups to practice and operationalize Berkeley Lab's 5 stewardship values was invaluable. The Stewardship Summit has provided me with new connections to colleagues across the lab community."
~ Stewardship Summit Participant
"The role-plays [in the SAFE workshop] were super helpful in putting me in the shoes of different positions & archetypes, helping me practice crisis management."
"The small class setting allowed me to focus and engage intimately with my fellow classmates/colleagues."
~ SAFE for Leaders participants
"After nearly two years working remotely and on Zoom and with two additional members added during the pandemic, the team really needed quality time together to connect and reboot. There were some skeptics, but Joanna Martinez really brought us all together and designed a meaningful, bespoke experience tailored to the team's needs. The result is more connection and compassion and a better understanding of team dynamics."

"On behalf of the Joint Genome Institute (JGI), Jenny Quan and I recently partnered with our L&OD Team to design, create and facilitate a Leadership Retreat focused on a renewed sense of community and shared purpose for the members of the JGI Leadership Team. The Agenda consisted of the following areas: Building Connection & Trust, Unpacking Team Dynamics with Core Strengths and Strategic Thinking & Leadership (SWOT).
[...] There were deep insights and a better understanding of each other's work styles and communication preferences.
I want to thank the L&OD Team and especially Joanna for her partnership and making the process of designing the content for this important Leadership Retreat so effortless! I have already seen an improved level of communication between the Team, and engagement with all members in meetings."
